JAPAN -  日本

They say the definition of madness is doing the same thing twice and expecting a different result. Call me crazy then, but in 2017 I went to Japan for the second time in my life and travelled exactly the same route as my first visit, but in reverse. And you know what? It was incredible.

I was fortunate enough this time to go back during cherry blossom season, and travelled in a different group of people, but the amount of things to do, see and experience in Japan is truly mind boggling.

Starting off a two week trip, we began in super metropolis Tokyo before heading to old school Kyoto and its picturesque streets. This took up the majority of the trip, with the last 5 days or so seeing us travel to Hiroshima, Miyajima, Koya-san and Osaka.

To keep things as simple and user friendly as possible, I’ll be splitting my posts on Japan into the below sections, which I’ll gradually write up (yes I know I’m starting one year behind already)

  • Overview of the Trip and Itinerary, Costs

    • Tokyo: Food/Things to Do

    • Kyoto: Food/Things to Do

    • Hiroshima/Miyajima

    • Koya-San

    • Osaka

  • Travel tips and Hints and Resources

  • Wish List!

Hopefully this will help you guys plan your Japan trips, and give some ideas and inspiration as to what you’d like to do! It is by no means an exhaustive list of things to do in each city, nor the best things to eat, but would I do it all again a third time? Hell yeah.
